Mazda has discontinued the previous front wheel drive (FWD) and turbocharged model grades and stayed within an all-wheel-drive 2.5-litre non-turbo petrol one. The price starts at $39,990 before on-road costs, making it more affordable than rival SUVs on the market.

Types of Mazda CX-5 to choose from
The 2026 Mazda CX-5 comes in five main grades to choose from:
Pure
The entry-level grade of the model, the CX-5 Pure comes with a 10.25-inch TFT LCD multi-information meter display, a 12.9-inch central infotainment screen with touch control, Wired Apple Carplay® and Android Auto™ and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go function.
Evolve
In addition to everything the Pure has, the Evolve includes frameless rear-view mirror with auto dimming plus auto folding and heated exterior mirrors.
Touring
In addition to the Evolve, the Touring has a 10-way powered driver's seat with memory and a powered liftgate.
GT SP
In addition to Touring, the GT SP has adaptive LED headlights and a Premium Bose® audio system with 12 speakers.
Akera
In addition to GT SP, the Akera comes with a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, front seats with ventilation function, a panoramic sunroof and a personalisation system with Easy Entry & Driving position guide.
