Behind the Scenes at our Noosa Mazda BT-50 shoot

October 2, 2019

Luke and Xavier were there to represent Grand Prix Mazda Aspley, and Luke invited along his son Jaylen, and good mate Adam. We were joined by Alex Glenn of the Brisbane Broncos, our resident rugby player and photographer’s dream, and Danny from The Power Station Co, who was working the coffee machine from sunrise to sundown to keep us fuelled throughout the day.

If you missed it on our socials, see the video which captured our awesome day here!

Our day started early at Luke’s where the convoy of Mazda BT-50s were loaded up with eskies, the barbie, snacks, and the surfboards (thanks to the easy-to-use roof racks). Danny loaded us up with some fresh Power Station morning coffee get us road-ready before the drive up to Noosa.

It’s important not to go 4WDing on an empty stomach, so we convened on Hastings Street for a delicious breakfast in the sunshine to prepare us for the fun day ahead. With our bellies full of pancakes and eggs benny, we headed to the Tewantin ferry for our next destination.

Off the barge and onto the beach with miles of empty beach stretched out before us.Danny’ first 4WD experience proved entertaining when he got bogged ten minutes after we hit the sand. Don’t worry Danny – it happens to everyone! After a full-team rescue mission to get him unstuck, we continued on our cruise up the pristine beaches. With kilometres of unspoilt coastline to explore, the team all had a great time testing out the BT-50’s beach capabilities.

After reaching the beautiful Rainbow Beach, we piled out of the BT-50s to set up camp, pitched the marquee, started the barbie for a truly special lunch time cook-up and played a game of beach footy where Alex showed off his skills. An esky full of icy cold Remedy Kombucha was the perfect way to toast the day and refresh after our game. It’s always important to stay hydrated, especially after playing extreme competitive sports! There aren’t many places better for lunch than an entire beach all to yourself!

Budding chef Xavier served up a delicious lunch time BBQ for the boys. Xavier’s stellar burgers were enjoyed by all as we lounged around on our Blem Beach Accessories towels and soaked up the sunshine. We even got our fancy on and indulged in a picnic-style cheese platter, presented beautifully by Xavier, who was really demonstrating his culinary skills.

After lunch, we piled back into the BT-50s and took advantage of their off-road capabilities to do some more exploring of the brightly coloured sandy beaches that make Rainbow Beach so famous. The rocks and sand-dunes were no match for the BT-50, which made discovering the stunning rugged landscape a breeze.

We made our way back down the beach to the Tewantin Ferry as the sun started setting behind us. Our drone captured some great shots of the cars looking sleek and cutting an impressive figure against the coastline on the drive back down towards Noosa. The BT-50 really does look and feel at home on the beach!

A short ferry ride later and we were back in Noosa in time for the sunset. A full day of exploring and adventuring had left us starving and ready to kick up our feet, so we sat down together at Noosa Surf Club. Our perfect day ended with us sharing some laughs and enjoying a nice cold beer and hearty meal against a truly spectacular backdrop.

A whirlwind day made so much better by the fantastic company and beautiful scenery – and most importantly, a car that was equipped to handle all the challenges we threw at it! From city to surf, beach to boulders, the Mazda BT-50 helped us enjoy our day in comfort, safety and style.

Huge thanks to Luke, Xavier, Alex, Danny, Jaylen and Adam for a ripper of a day. We had so much fun and can’t wait to show off how much we enjoyed our BT-50 adventure in our new video, coming soon! If you’re thinking about buying a new car that’s perfect for all your weekend needs, we’d love to show off the Mazda BT-50 and let you take it for a test drive!
